Nova Scotia’s transfer hub moved more than 72,000 patients in a year

Nova Scotia Health says the Care Coordination Centre’s provincial transfer hub, working with Emergency Health Services, coordinated more than 72,000 patient transfers in its first year, about 10,000 more than the year before. After-hours transfers rose by 2,432, a 16 percent increase. The authority says the hub was built to shorten delays caused by limited bed visibility and long coordination calls.
